As I have grown older, I have begun to appreciate Jazz.  I am not talking Kenny G. type stuff, not that there's anything wrong with it, but older style Jazz.  The type of Jazz with Billy Holiday and Etta James.  I will be the first to admit that I am still new to the whole genre of music, but I have to say that no matter your mood, there is a style of Jazz to suite it.  I think that I have been heavily influenced by the Blues and Jazz that Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton and even Sting somewhat emote, or maybe I'm just getting old, who knows.

Anyway, if you are new to the world of Jazz, there is an easy and affordable way to get introduced to it.  I started out buy purchasing a CD of one of the greats.  In my case I picked Etta James, although you couldn't go wrong by picking up some Louis Armstrong, Billy Holiday or Ella Fitzgerald.  From there I wanted to expand my knowledge so I  found a great collection of Jazz CD's that can be purchased pretty cheap at Amazon.Com, Half.Com or Best Buy.  I purchased a couple of these and have gone from there.  Soon, I hope to add more about some of the albums that I like and why, but for now, here is a list of some of the compilation Jazz CD's I own.  If you click on them, you will be taken to the info page at Amazon for that album.
