Meet Me at
...
at Forest Park!
America's oldest & largest outdoor musical theatre is located in Missouri!
Seat cost is more than reasonable - you can see all 7 shows for as low as $40. Plus, there are always "free seats". They might be in the back, but you can still enjoy the show!
The dream of St. Louisans for a permanent outdoor theatre in Forest Park probably dates back to the 1904 World's Fair. The realization of that dream began in 1916 with plans for an outdoor production of AS YOU LIKE IT by Margaret Anglin's Shakespearean troupe. And the dream became a reality in 1917 with the construction of the Municipal Theatre for six performances of AIDA, produced for the 13th Annual Convention of Advertising Clubs of the World.
After the first three
weeks of The Muny's inaugural season, the fledgling theatre had a short fall
nearing $60,000. It seemed that The Muny was in danger of a permanent curtain
call! Mayor Kiel called an emergency meeting. This was the core of what
would prove to be a self-appointed "Save The Muny Committee". Headed by Mayor
Kiel, a door-to-door campaign was initiated, with the Mayor himself selling
blocks of tickets to local merchants. The plight of The Muny captured the
public's attention, and soon the local papers, clubs, organizations and just
plain folk got behind the effort. Before long, The Muny was on a much more
substantial financial footing, and...the rest is history!

So meet us at The Muny for one of the most exciting evenings St. Louis has seen in a hundred years! CATS The Jellicle Ball * Mr. Mistoffelees * Memory It's been 10 years since CATS purred its way across The Muny stage, and you won't want to miss Rum Tum Tugger, Grizabella and Old Deuteronomy as they make their triumphant return! CATS is the all-singing, all-dancing, all-feline musical, and The Muny's production will pay grand tribute to Broadway's longest-running musical. Romantical cats. Theatrical cats. Dramatical cats. Fanatical cats. They're all waiting for you to let the "Memory" live again! ANNIE Tomorrow * I Don't Need Anything But You * It's The Hard-Knock Life Introduce the child in your life to the most optimistic red-headed orphan to ever sing and dance her way through New York City! The sun'll be out all summer…'cause ANNIE'S back at The Muny! BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S Featuring memorable Johnny Mercer tunes, and the unforgettable "Moon River." An upswept hairdo. A long cigarette holder. A little black dress. All of these have become elegant icons made famous by Holly Golightly in the 1961 film classic BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY'S. Meet the free-spirited young woman who breezes through New York, until a literary young man moves into her apartment building, her life, and her heart. Quirky, funny, sophisticated and bittersweet, this stylish romance is a gem of a musical! THE MUSIC MAN Seventy-Six Trombones * Till There Was You * Wells Fargo Wagon THE MUSIC MAN is that jim-dandy musical with the thump and dazzle of a Sousa march! It's 1912, and Harold Hill, the every-time-a-bulls-eyes salesman, has just chugged into River City, Iowa, bringing with him a sample case full of trouble. Marian the Librarian, her little brother Winthrop, and their Iowa-stubborn neighbors will never be quite the same again. What a score! What a story! What a show! GUYS AND DOLLS Luck Be A Lady * Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat * I've Never Been In Love Before GUYS AND DOLLS is Frank Loesser's tuneful tribute to the noisy, lively world of fly-by-night Broadway romance. Sky Masterson, Nicely-Nicely Johnson, Miss Adelaide and mission doll Sarah Brown are all part of the colorful landscape, masterfully re-created by author Damon Runyon. It's better than even money...GUYS AND DOLLS is a sure hit! 42ND STREET We're In The Money * Shuffle Off To Buffalo * Lullaby Of Broadway 42nd STREET is the musical they don't make 'em like anymore! Boy meets girl. Boy loses girl. Girl fills in for the ailing leading lady and tap dances her way to stardom. And then boy gets girl. 42nd STREET is one of Broadway's all time brassiest blockbusters, and the tap-tap-tappiest show of the summer!
