This
is a Missouri State Park, called a 'Natural Area', located at the Lake of the Ozarks.
There is a selection of things to do at Ha Ha Tonka. You can go to
the museum and learn about the geographical aspect of Lake of the Ozarks at Ha
Ha Tonka. You can walk the paths to the 'castle', and you can walk down to the
spring. There are designated areas for swimming and picnicking with public
rest rooms and plenty of parking. There are spelunking tours available for
a fee, but everything else is free. For more information click Ha

Below are some of our vacation pictures

The pictures of the "castle"
are actually a mansion from the 1920's. A
wealthy man bought a large amount of land and started building. He died before it was completed and his son completed the project
by furnishing the interior. Shortly after the house was finished it burnt
down along with the carriage house, and all that is left are the stone
shells. No one is allowed inside the walls. It is left untouched for nature to take
over. The exterior grounds are open to the public including around the
castle, carriage house, and the water tower which is off to the side. The
water tower was untouched in the fire but was burnt and vandalized in the
1970's.
